AI POLICY

The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (IJAIE) is committed to promoting ethical, transparent, and responsible research in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Computer Science, and emerging technologies. The journal recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing, research assistance, data analysis, and content generation, and therefore establishes the following AI Policy for authors, reviewers, and editors.

1. Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors may use AI-based tools and technologies for language improvement, grammar correction, formatting assistance, coding support, data analysis, or research organization. However, the use of AI must always remain ethical, transparent, and aligned with academic integrity standards.

2. Human Responsibility and Accountability

All submitted manuscripts must reflect the original intellectual contribution of the authors. Authors are fully responsible for:

  • The accuracy, authenticity, and originality of the content.
  • Verification of all facts, references, data, and interpretations.
  • Ensuring that AI-generated content does not contain plagiarism, fabricated citations, misleading information, or unethical material.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot take responsibility for scholarly work.

3. Disclosure of AI Usage

If AI tools are substantially used in manuscript preparation, authors must clearly disclose the nature and extent of AI assistance in the acknowledgment or methodology section of the paper. The disclosure should include:

  • Name of the AI tool/software used.
  • Purpose of usage.
  • Extent of AI involvement in content generation or analysis.

4. Prohibited Use of AI

The following practices are strictly prohibited:

  • Submission of fully AI-generated manuscripts without human intellectual contribution.
  • Use of AI for fabrication or manipulation of research data, images, graphs, or results.
  • Generation of fake references, citations, or experimental findings.
  • Use of AI in ways that violate copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or ethical research standards.

5. Plagiarism and Originality

All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to plagiarism screening and editorial evaluation. AI-assisted content must still meet originality requirements and should not reproduce copyrighted or previously published material without proper citation and permission.

6. Editorial and Peer Review Integrity

Editors and reviewers must maintain confidentiality and should not upload unpublished manuscripts or sensitive research data into public AI systems or platforms that may compromise intellectual property or privacy.

7. Compliance with International Research Ethics

The journal follows internationally accepted publication ethics and encourages responsible innovation in Artificial Intelligence research. Authors are expected to comply with ethical guidelines related to transparency, fairness, accountability, and research integrity.

8. Policy Updates

As Artificial Intelligence technologies continue to evolve, the journal reserves the right to modify or update this AI Policy to maintain high standards of scholarly publishing and ethical academic practices.
